Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League hosted its 53rd Annual Christmas Ball on December 12 at the Sailfish Club in Palm Beach. This elegant holiday affair supported Peggy Adam’s mission to save the lives of homeless, neglected, and injured dogs and cats. Pauline Pitt, a devoted Peggy Adams supporter and newly appointed board chair, proudly served as Chairwoman for this year’s event.
The enchanting evening, adorned with holiday lights, garlands, festive Christmas trees, and beautiful decorations, began with adorable, adoptable pets welcoming guests with wagging tails—an event favorite! This heartwarming tradition highlights the importance of animal adoption, and Peggy Adams is proud to say they have found homes for over 5,000 cats and dogs in 2024!
Christmas carolers singing holiday classics welcomed 300 guests to an unforgettable evening of cocktails, dinner, and live entertainment. This year’s event raised over two million dollars to support the life-saving mission, programs, and services at Peggy Adams. The celebration also marked the beginning of the organization’s 100th anniversary year—a truly remarkable milestone.
“We are so grateful to our supporters, volunteers, and Board of Directors that continue to help the animals at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League,” said Sue Berry, CEO. ” This year’s Christmas Ball not only celebrates an amazing year of service but also kicks off the 100th anniversary of our mission. Those who supported the event speak for those without a voice and there is nothing more special than that during the holiday season.”
Over the last century, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League has provided care and support to over 1.5 million animals. Once a modest operation, the nonprofit has grown into a thriving campus with more than 100 employees, including six full-time veterinarians. Beyond adoptions, Peggy Adams offers a wide range of services, including a public clinic for low-cost spay/neuter surgeries and preventative vaccines, free TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) services for community cats, foster care and support, humane education programs, a robust Safety Net program that includes the Peggy’s Pantry community pet food bank, and much more.
