Boxer Mix Removed by Landlord Still Waits for a Home After 120 Days in the Shelter

June 27, 2026

Some dogs stay in the shelter longer than others for various reasons. Age, temperament, breed, and potential health issues can play a part in decision-making when potential pet parents consider adoption. While some canines have obvious challenges that can hold up finding a forever home, others are free of any glaring issues and just end up lingering in the shelter.

Tater Tot the black and white Boxeris still at the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League after four months and sadly wondering why he hasn’t been chosen.

In the TikTok from @peggyadamsarl, Tater Tot sat in front of the camera with a pensive yet hopeful and endearing expression on his face. He looked like he was saying, “Please pick me — please.”

“How Tater Tot looks at potential adopters after 120 days here,” the on-screen text shared.

The precious pooch arrived at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League earlier this year when he was evicted from his home.

“Four-year-old Tater Tot was surrendered in February through no fault of his own: his family’s landlord said he wasn’t welcome,” the caption explained. “Tater Tot has been waiting so patiently, and he still has hope. He is an awesome, fun-loving boy waiting for his lucky break.”

The canine cutie is described as “goofy, fun, and sweet.” Tater Tot knows commands, loves to exercise, and does well with children.

The organization will provide supplies and waive the adoption fee for this sweet fur baby.

Tater Tot Is a Lovebug

According to his bio, this friendly fur baby is the “cutest potato-based snack in the shelter” that never stops wagging his tail.

“Whether he’s splashing in a kiddie pool, chasing after his favorite squeaky toy, or leaning in for full-body hugs, Tater Tot brings joy wherever he goes,” the description shared. “Tater is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. He’s always up for an adventure—walks around the neighborhood, weekend hikes, or a game of fetch in the yard—but he’s just as happy curling up beside you for a cozy movie night.”

Above all, Tater Tot has a huge heart and wants to share it.

“He’s a loyal companion who bonds deeply with his people and thrives on love and attention,” the caption concluded.

This beautiful Boxer mix is holding out hope for another chance at happiness and would make a wonderful addition to a loving family.
