West Palm Beach, FL- (March 6, 2023) Hundreds of passionate animal lovers gathered for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s 22nd Annual Walk for the Animals, supported by Barry Crown, to raise money for the lost and homeless and unwanted pets. The largest pet-friendly walk in Palm Beach County occurred on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the Meyer Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach and raised over $100,000.
Participants of the pet-friendly walk enjoyed a variety of vendors, breakfast, and an adorable adoptable animal runway show, before opening ceremonies and a ribbon-cutting ceremony ushered in the scenic walk down Flagler Drive. As participants completed the one-mile route, with WALK mascots Ella & Arlo leading, they enjoyed pet costume contests with unique prize baskets at center stage. The categories included Best Dressed, Most Creative, Owner/Pet Look-A-Like, and Best in Show. There was also a fabulous silent auction and raffle area with great prizes. The event MC was Kevin Rolston from the KVJ Show on WRMF 97.9 FM. Brooke Silverang, from WPBF 25, welcomed guests during the ribbon-cutting ceremony and was a pet costume judge.
Since all adopters are a superhero to their pets, this year’s theme encouraged participants to come out in their best superhero costume! As they embraced the role of a pet hero, everyone who came out truly did help support all the animals currently at Peggy Adams waiting to find their forever home!
All proceeds benefitted Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Sponsors of the Walk included: MetLife Pet Insurance; Hill’s Pet Nutrition; Jones Foster; Aioli; Celis Produce; Cheney Brothers; Conkling & Lewis Construction, Inc.; Daszkal Bolton; General Plumbing; Jolene & Larry Shapiro; NexGen Enterprises; Nozzle Nolen Pest Solutions; Scenthound; Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, PA; Stokes Mechanical Contractor; Subculture; The Pet Taxi; Trane Supply; Velocity Community Credit Union; Very Important Paws; Veterinary Emergency Group; Veterinary Specialty Hospital; WPBF 25 News; and Hubbard South Florida.
