Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, Palm Beach County’s oldest animal rescue and a leading force for animal care, is delighted to announce the success of its Spring fundraiser, Happy Tails. The event transformed The Colony Palm Beach on April 11, 2024, into a pet lovers’ paradise – featuring light bites, a signature cocktail, and 7 adoptable dogs looking for a loving new home.
Callie Baker Holt, Emilia Pfeifler, and Stephanie Shafran co-chaired the event which raised over $560,000 for dogs and cats in need. “Great Dane” event sponsors were Callie & Matt Holt, Vicky & Sam Hunt, Ellen & Michael Merriman, and Stephanie & Steve Shafran.
“This was a fun, vibrant evening filled with support and love for our mission,” said Sue Berry, CEO of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “Because of our donors, Peggy Adams has one of the finest shelter veterinary teams in the state and we can respond when other shelters reach out in times of need. In the past year, we were able to answer the call for over 35,000 animals in one way or another through our various programs, thanks to the support of our community.”
150 supporters attended the Happy Tails event including James Berwind and Kevin Clark, Emilia and J. Pepe Fanjul, Sr., Candy Hamm, Denise and Dan Hanley, Connie and Peter Lacaillade, Dani Moore, Carole Moran, Tom Quick, Martha and Dwight Schar, Diane and Tom Smith, Lesly Smith, Electra Toub and Peter Soros, Hillary Thomas and Reid Boren.
As the team at Peggy Adam’s reflects on the success of Happy Tails, they are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support of the community they serve. Their collective efforts will fuel Peggy’s Adams mission and help the organization continue to pave the way for humane animal care in Palm Beach County.
