Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League organized a month-long pet food drive in October, successfully reaching its goal of collecting 25,000 pounds of food! This successful initiative concluded with a community celebration called Peggy’s Picnic on Saturday, November 9. Over 400 people gathered to drop off their donations, package pet food for distribution to local food banks, and explore the various offerings of the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
Peggy’s Picnic raised over $50,000 to support the shelter’s vision of creating a community where 100% of adoptable animals find loving homes. In addition to the 25,000 pounds of pet food collected, the event also featured a special promotion with 50% off adoption fees, resulting in 28 pets finding loving new homes that day.
“The Fall Food Drive was an incredible example of community spirit and generosity that will make a real difference for the animals.” Says Sue Berry, CEO. “This food drive was about more than just feeding pets—it’s about keeping families together. By supporting Peggy’s Pantry, we’re helping ensure that families don’t have to make the heartbreaking decision of giving up their beloved pets due to financial hardship.”
The generous donation of food will supply more than 100,000 meals for pets in need. The Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League actively partners with local food banks to ensure that families experiencing financial difficulties across Palm Beach County receive essential support for their beloved pets. Through this collaboration, they aim to alleviate some of the stress that comes with caring for animals during challenging times, ensuring that no pet goes hungry.
