West Palm Beach, FL- (May 28, 2020) We’ve all seen the empty shelves at the grocery store – no toilet paper, no milk, no cleaning supplies. There has also been an almost historic shortage of kittens available for adoption. Amid this Covid-19 pandemic, people throughout Palm Beach County have been asking us every day – “Where are all the kittens? When are the kittens coming?”
As the community continues to spend time at home, adding a furry family member to the household is just what people are looking for to keep their spirits up.
We are excited to report that Kitten Season* has arrived and Peggy Adams’ adoption center is being “re-stocked” this week with more than 200 of the most adorable little kittens you will ever see!
“It is the purrfect time to add a cute, cuddly kitten or two to your family,” says Rich Anderson, Executive Director/CEO of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “There is nothing better for relieving stress than the playful companionship of an adorable kitten. And to top it off, you’ll know that you’re also saving a homeless animal’s life.”
But don’t wait – make your appointment today! These kittens won’t last. Though we understand how people want to stock up and adopt three, four or more, due to the limited supply we must limit adoptions to two per family.
June is also “Adopt a Shelter Cat Month”! Those looking to adopt or reserve an adorable kitten can make an appointment to visit the Peggy Adams Adoption Center by calling 561.686.3663 or email Adoptions@PeggyAdams.org. Peggy Adams also has kittens available at various off-site centers such as PetSmart, PetSupermarket and Petco. Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League’s Adoption fees: kittens under five months of age are $75 and cats over five months of age are “name your own price”. For Palm Beach County residents, a $20 rabies tag fee applies to each kitten and/or cat.
All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters receive a free starter bag of Hill’s Pet Nutrition food, 30 days of free PetFirst Pet Insurance, and a registered HomeAgain Microchip. For more information and for kitten locations, please visit PeggyAdams.org/adopt
(*Kitten Season is the time from early spring to late fall when cats mate and give birth to countless kittens in the community.)
