West Palm Beach, FL (October 11, 2018) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and Schumacher Subaru are asking for the community to help “Stuff the Subaru” with much needed Peggy’s Pantry pet food donations to benefit those who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Stop by Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League (located at 3200 N. Military Trail, WPB) Saturday, October 21, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pm or Sunday, October 21, 2018 between 11 am and 5 pm with donation items.
Items that are needed include: wet and dry cat food; wet and dry dog food; and cat and dog treats.
The food drive helps stock the shelves of Peggy’s Pantry which benefits between 400-500 Palm Beach County pets each month. The goal is to keep families and their fur members together and out of the shelter.
This special food drive is made possible by a grant from the ASPCA, Subaru Loves Pets and Subaru. In addition to helping local Palm Beach County families with pet food and basic supplies, this grant will also provide low-income or disabled residents with a limited amount of rabies tags, vouchers for spay/neuter services and vaccine packages.
“It’s heartbreaking when people and families that are hurting financially feel like they have no choice but to surrender a beloved pet to a shelter,” says Rich Anderson, Executive Director/CEO of Peggy Adams. “We are incredibly grateful for grants such as this that enable us to provide temporary food assistance and vouchers for free services to keep these pets healthy and in their homes.”
Peggy Adams will also be requesting pet food donations during their annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 9:30 am in their Berman Gardens. This event is officiated by Father Frank and Rabbi Frank, who will bless all pets and also address pet parents gathering together to celebrate the animals that bring joy to our lives. Guests receive refreshments, a professional photo download and a certificate of blessing.
