WEST PALM BEACH, FL (September 30, 2022) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is stepping in to provide emergency relief to a shelter on the Gulf Coast that was dramatically impacted by Hurricane Ian. A portion of the shelter’s roof was lost during the devastating storm, and they are currently without power. This transport, in collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society, will save close to 100 adoptable animals from Gulf Coast Humane Society.
Peggy Adams’ staff traveled with four of their vehicles to the west coast at 6am this morning and are expected to arrive back at in West Palm Beach (3200 N. Military Trail) at 1pm. Via this transport, 37 cats and 20 dogs will be arriving at Peggy Adams with the remainder going to another local Palm Beach County rescue.
“Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is providing emergency relief to a shelter dramatically impacted by Hurricane Ian,” said Sue Berry, CEO of Peggy Adams. “Our team is taking part in this urgent transfer of 57 cats and dogs from the West Coast of Florida. Many of these animals have health issues and we are fortunate to have the facility to care for them.”
