Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League has stepped in to provide emergency relief to Taylor County Animal Control who was directly impacted by Hurricane Debby. A total of 12 kittens and four dogs were transported from Taylor County to Peggy Adams on Tuesday afternoon. The pets will be placed in foster care until they are ready for adoption.
Peggy Adams’ staff traveled with two vehicles on Tuesday, August 8 to meet a transport team halfway in Kissimmee. After arriving back at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, all 16 animals were checked by the veterinary staff and then placed into foster care to wait our their required quarantine period.
“Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is providing emergency relief to a shelter dramatically impacted by Hurricane Debby,” said Sue Berry, CEO of Peggy Adams. “Our team is taking part in this urgent transfer of 16 cats and dogs from the West Coast of Florida. We are lucky to have the facility to care for these animals in need and happy to help our neighbors in a time of crisis.”
To support the transfer and care of these animals and the ongoing efforts to help our neighbors in need, we ask people to volunteer their time and adopt from our shelter so we can make room for even more animals in need.
