While much of South Florida was spared from significant impacts from Hurricane Helene, there are several ways you can help those impacted in the Big Bend.
The American Red Cross is urging those who are able to donate blood. Right now, crews from the Red Cross in South Florida are on the ground in North and Central Florida.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast, and Furry Friends Adoption Clinic & Ranch took in animals from shelters in Florida’s panhandle and Big Bend.
The animals were living in outdoor kennels in the path of the storm but will now wait for their forever homes in South Florida.
Right now Big Dog Ranch Rescue is collecting supplies to drive up to the Carolinas. They hope to bring several hundred dogs back with them who are currently in shelters that are unable to operate.
BDRR needs about 100 foster homes to help complete that mission.
