Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League hosted its Black Friday event, waiving all adoption fees to help families find their furry best friends. The event has been scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
More than 450 animals are sheltered at the rescue league, and staff hope to help ease the adoption process this holiday season.
It’s also an ongoing crisis shelters are experiencing not only nationwide, but also here in the Sunshine State– not enough space to shelter stray dogs and cats or animals that had been surrendered.
“Every animal that goes home, means we can take in another animal that needs help still. And we have lots of people still contacting us, needing to surrender or having found strays,” Mara Gleason, marketing coordinator at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue, told WPBF 25 News. “We do the best we can with spay and neuter, but adoption really is so important for all the animals that we take in.”
If you weren’t able to make it to Peggy Adams on Black Friday, don’t worry because there will be more adoption events in the near future.
“We have one coming up in December, so keep an eye out for more fee-waived and reduced fee events if you’re looking to adopt,” Gleason said.
