WEST PALM BEACH, FL- (May 5, 2020) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is pleased to announce that Shellie Kalmore has joined as Humane Education Manager of Peggy Adams’ new Humane Education Program.
Shellie has spent her career looking after the development of educational strategies, programs and innovative experiences. With a mix of for-profit and nonprofit leadership experience through her work with organizations including Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, the Nashville Zoo, and other informal learning environments across the country, she has provided people of all ages, opportunities to celebrate and connect with the natural world.
Shellie holds a B.A in Biology and Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and M.S. in Museum Education from Bank Street College in Manhattan.
Most recently she has been sharing her passion for connecting people with wildlife and wild places at the River Center as the Volunteer Coordinator. She shares her philosophy, “It is important to me that I make valuable contributions to my organization and learning community, and nothing underscores that more than helping people develop a love and respect for the living world. I am looking forward to my new role and sharing my passion for connecting people in fun and exciting programs and experiences at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.”
The new Humane Education Program is funded thanks to Spring Point Partners LLC. Humane education is teaching people of all ages to respect all life on the planet and feel empowered to take action and help make the world a better place. Peggy Adams’ Humane Education Department believes that people, animals, and environment are all connected. Through humane education programs, together, we can all make a lifetime of good choices in our treatment of all living things and the world we share.
The Humane Education Department has officially launched and will host Virtual Storytime weekly starting on May 6th at 10am via Facebook (Facebook.com/PeggyAdamsARL) and our website. This is just the beginning for this new program at Peggy Adams. The launch of the new Humane Education Program precedes the anticipated opening of the new Pet Adoption Center at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League at the West Palm Beach campus located at 3200 N. Military Trail. Upon its scheduled opening in 2020, the Center will have the capacity to double the amount of lives rescued enabling Peggy Adams to save thousands more dogs, cats, puppies and kittens.
