Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League will hold its largest fee-waived adoption event of the year, Summer Lovin’, on June 13. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at its headquarters at 3200 N. Military Trail.
The event will feature more than 170 adoptable dogs and cats. Adoption fees will be waived for all pets, thanks to event sponsors.
The shelter recently transferred 50 animals from overcrowded municipal shelters in South Florida. The goal is to surpass last year’s record of more than 145 adoptions in a single day. This effort is especially important during kitten season and hurricane season, when shelters face increased demand.
Families who adopt will help save animals’ lives and make room for those in need. Adopted pets will receive spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip identification and a goodie bag.
A $20 Palm Beach County rabies tag fee will apply for county residents. The organization, an independent nonprofit, has provided services to more than 35,000 animals annually since 1925.
