Baubles, bubbles, and barks combined for a sparkling event honoring Pauline Pitt, the chairwoman of the annual fundraiser for the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
The reception took place Nov. 30 at the MISH Fine Jewelry Studio on South County Road.

Mish Tworkowski and Joseph Singer were chairmen for the reception, which also marked the 100th anniversary of the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Pitt is the organization’s board chair.
The gathering featured hors d’oeuvres, a “Pink Poodle” specialty cocktail ― of course ― a look at Tworkowski’s new Garden collection, showcased in front of a backdrop of cute-as-all-get-out-of-a-dog illustrations created by Robert Rufino and Manuel Santelices, and three adoption-ready puppies from the shelter.
“This special evening is to recognize and celebrate the important and tireless work of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League,” said Tworkowski, who also serves on the organization’s board of directors.
“We are very fortunate to have people like Pauline Pitt in our community who are so dedicated to this cause as well as so many other important institutions,” Tworkowski said. “Pauline is truly an icon in Palm Beach. She has the biggest heart, and it is such an honor for us to highlight all that she does for the organization.”
“As we celebrate our centennial, we honor a century of dedication to animals in need,” Pitt said. “I am proud to support this remarkable organization as we continue our vital mission, ensuring that we bring hope and healing to countless animals and strengthen our community in the years to come.”
It was also announced that a record 111 pets were adopted on Black Friday.
More than 100 people attended.
The Christmas Ball for the Animals took place on Dec. 12 at The Sailfish Club.
Proceeds benefit Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League., which in its 100 years has expanded into a sprawling campus with more than 100 employees, including six full-time veterinarians. In addition to pet adoptions, Peggy Adams offers a public clinic for low-cost Spay/Neuter surgeries and preventative vaccines, free TNVR (Trap Neuter Vaccinate Return) for community cats, and Safety Net services that include the Peggy’s Pantry community pet food bank and foster care and support.
