Volunteers are stepping up Wednesday morning as part of Sinclair’s Day of Service, partnering with Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League to help local families and their pets.
From 9 a.m. to noon, the CBS12 News team will be packing pet food and essential supplies at the organization’s campus on North Military Trail.
The effort is aimed at helping families facing financial hardship so they don’t have to make the difficult decision to give up their animals.
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League has served Palm Beach County for decades, working to care for animals in need while also supporting pet owners through community programs. The organization focuses on preserving the bond between people and their pets, offering resources that help keep animals in loving homes.
During Wednesday’s event, CBS12 team members and other volunteers are taking a hands-on role—sorting, packing and preparing supplies that will be distributed to families across the community. Organizers say the goal is simple: ease the burden on pet owners and prevent unnecessary surrenders.
The impact, they say, goes beyond just one day. By providing food and supplies, families can stay together with their pets during challenging times, reducing the number of animals entering shelters.
For those looking to help, Peggy Adams offers several ways to get involved. Community members can foster animals in need of temporary homes, volunteer their time to support daily operations, or donate to help fund shelter services and outreach programs.
Organizers say every effort—big or small—can make a meaningful difference in the lives of both pets and the people who love them.
