What is Rescue Readers?

As a Rescue Reader, kids ages 5-15 (accompanied by an adult) can read aloud to our adoptable dogs and cats.

To participate, readers of all ages must attend ONE of the orientation sessions, accompanied by a parent or guardian. This adult must be present and engaged during both the orientation and all reading sessions. One adult may oversee multiple children, but the group must stay together at all times. No sibling tag-along, please.

There is a $60 registration cost per child for the 7-week program, including the required orientation, training, and materials.

Reading sessions will start January 22 and run through March 6. Reading hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays are at 4 pm and 5 pm.
