About Me

Hi! I’m Dave! 🐾
I’m a 2-year-and-8-month-old Black Mouth Cur mix, and I’m hoping to find someone who will give me the chance to show you just how great I can be in a home! You can get to know me through the Foster-to-Adopt program and see how we fit together—or you can fall in love with me right here at the shelter and make me your forever boy! I’m happiest when I’m with my human family. I love going on long walks, stretching my legs, and getting the chance to run and explore. I’m an active guy, but I also know how to relax. After a fun day, there’s nothing better than laying right next to my favorite person and enjoying some quality time together. I can be a little sensitive to my surroundings. Loud noises and big trucks can startle me, so I appreciate having people who understand that I may need some reassurance in those moments. I can also become overstimulated sometimes, but I’m a great listener and respond well to guidance when I need help calming down. I should also let you know that I can be a little claustrophobic, so hugs aren’t always my favorite thing. I like affection on my terms, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love being close to my people! Give me some space when I ask for it, and I’ll happily choose to snuggle up beside you when I’m ready.
If you’re looking for an active, loyal companion who loves his people, enjoys adventures, and is perfectly content relaxing by your side afterward, Dave might be your guy! Give me a chance to show you how special I am. 🥰
